Our Projects
2015
Our first project was the contribution of $8,900 to the 1st phase of the Menara market reconstruction. Modern infrastructures have been put in place and the market is up and running. This has brought improved commerce, beauty, pride and joy to the people of Ilupeju-Ekiti.
2016
$2500 was donated toward the construction of the 1st phase of the Menara market in Ilupeju Ekiti. We spent $5,000 on rehabilitating 2 boreholes in Ilupeju-Ekiti. $300 was spent supporting the annual soccer tournament which takes place in December in Ilupeju Ekiti.
2017
$3,400 was spent rehabilitating 2 moribund boreholes in Ilupeju Ekiti. These were originally pumped by hand before going out of commission. They are fully functional now with water being pumped into an overhead tank, eliminating the need to pump by hand. We also spent $6,850 toward the completion of the 2nd phase of the Menara market in Ilupeju Ekiti. We continued to support the annual soccer program with $300.
2018
The IDA North America Branch has supported the construction of a library in Ilupeju Ekiti with the sum of $3,680. The building has been completed and the next step will be the equipment of the building to make it fully functional. We rehabilitated 2 boreholes in the town and are completing the provision of continuous water supply to the Menara market. The running cost for these is $5,900. We have also supported the establishment of an annex of the Federal University, Oye Ekiti (FUOYE) with the sum of $1,500. Our commitment to the annual Soccer tournament has continued with the sum of $300.
2019
We spent $9,500 in total in 2019. The expenses included the drilling of 1 new borehole and the rehabilitation of another one. We also helped to fund the provision of street signs in Ilupeju. We have also employed a plumber to maintain the boreholes we have funded over the years to ensure proper functioning of these vital resources. Our support for the annual Soccer tournament is ongoing.
